Well I held out as long as possible, but seeing as I stopped updating my cartoon blog ages ago when I started having more of offline life to worry about, it's about time to update my situation.

Sadly, it's looking more and more unlikely that I'll be any kind of illustrator in the future. I say sadly, but really it’s a relief. I've spent so long on this site, growing up, watching some really awesome artists and I woke up one day, realising I was holding myself to some pretty unhealthy standards. It's like being an average looking woman in a room of supermodels. You get all these unpleasant feelings and you just want to carve your hands off because you'll just never measure up to those standards.

I'm not quitting dA. I've never been one to update every five minutes about leaving when I start feeling bad about my drawing. I just sit tight and sulk for a while. I'm just not serious about teh Internets as I used to be. I'm not going to kid myself about making characters up- it's never been a strong suit of mine. *Shrugs and grins* I'm just a gal who likes drawing to music. I don't feel I need to justify anything beyond that.

I used to upload my college work and I feel ashamed of it. Now it’s the opposite. I'm really proud of my college work and ashamed of my recent doodles. My college work is more design based right now. I'm not uploading it either. *Shrugs again* I just don't need validation on it when I already feel really happy about it.

So, what does that mean? Well, wall of text not withstanding, this means nothing. I'm just not aiming to do anything serious and keep up with the song!art.
